LOGIC media solutions has announced it is deploying Octopus 12 from Octopus Newsroom across RTL Deutschland and ntv.
Upgrading from the former newsroom system will provide a centralised and unified solution for the Cologne site and all external and regional studios. Octopus 12 will be integrated into the existing RTL and ntv infrastructure, aiming to enhance editorial workflows.
Core software and hardware will be housed at the main Cologne site, enabling the new solution to interface with automation and MAM systems, playout servers, graphics systems and teleprompters.
RTL Technology’s vice president, engineering, Florian Kronenberg, said: “The compatibility of Octopus 12 with our current systems is paramount as we integrate it into our existing technology. Simultaneously, Octopus offers us tremendous flexibility to modernise and optimise our workflows. Moreover, it provides significant openness for future upgrades of other systems, ensuring smooth future collaborations.”
Work to migrate to the new system began at the start of this year.
