Ross Video pan, tilts and zooms in 4K UHD/NDI

Two new PTZ cameras feature a 9.17megapixel, 1/1.8 inch CMOS sensor, and capture full 4K UHD 60fps and progressive HD video

Ross Video is launching a new series of pan/tilt heads along with two new PTZ cameras.

Part of the company’s new X Series, the X350 and X300 heads are described as compact, quiet and robust heads that are perfect for remote camera applications. Both have a payload capacity of 6.8 kg (15 lbs) enabling them to handle “practically any ENG or BOX camera and lens combination,” said Ross.

The X350 head also includes:

  • A 5” full colour touchscreen for setup, local control and integrated tally
  • Integrated VS/AR tracking for virtual sets and augmented/extended reality
  • Anti-backlash gearing that ensures smooth, accurate movements
  • Cascaded camera connections for power, control and genlock that simplify installation
  • MotionDirector for smooth, synchronised movement and keyframed moves

The two 4K UHD PTZ cameras, the PTZ-12G and the PTZ-NDI, feature a 9.17megapixel, 1/1.8 inch CMOS sensor, and capture full 4K UHD 60fps and progressive HD video.

The Ethernet interface enables single cable connectivity, providing remote control via IP VISCA protocol, video output using 4K UHD IP Streaming, and Power over Ethernet – all over a standard CAT5E cable with the option to go the NDI workflow route, said the company. The new cameras have been enhanced with the addition of a more powerful lens, featuring an extended zoom range of 30x optical and 12x digital, and an upgraded mechanical design to provide smoother and faster movement.

“We’re incredibly excited to introduce these new PTZ cameras and heads,” said Bruce Takasaki, marketing product manager, robotics and cameras. “The cameras and heads both represent excellent value and addition of free DashBoard control means that customers who work in, for example, corporate, house of worship or legislative environments and need compact, affordable remote camera solutions now have even wider options from Ross.”
