Following a competitive tender process, NATO has selected Grass Valley’s camera solutions to upgrade its main broadcast studio.
Working in collaboration with its Belgian integrator, VP Media Solutions, Grass Valley provided five LDX 135 studio camera channels for the organisation’s Brussels headquarters.
The requirements called for a 4K/HD portable studio camera system with SMPTE fibre connectivity and compatibility with the existing baseband SDI workflows, said the company. Integrating into NATO’s studio environment, the setup includes Grass Valley’s graphical camera shading solution, Creative Grading and delivers improvements in image quality.
VP Media Systems led the tender response and provided system design, installation, commissioning and training. The integrator also managed logistics and security screening for the programme and will deliver ongoing support of the system, which is now live.
“Establishing a new partnership with NATO following a formal NATO-wide tender is a significant milestone for Grass Valley, and we’re delighted to be supporting Bart Vandendorpe and the team with their production capabilities,” said Rene Hueber, director of global channel sales at Grass Valley. “Working alongside VP Media Solutions, this project demonstrates the flexibility and efficiency of the LDX platform in meeting strict technical specifications while delivering clear operational and image-quality benefits.”
