Epic Games unveils guide for broadcast and live events

The new Broadcast and Live Events Field Guide from Epic Games includes production tips from the likes of disguise, Creative Works London, Illuminarium, Moment Factory, The Weather Channel, and XR Studios

Epic Games has launched its Broadcast and Live Events Field Guide as part of a week-long online event featuring the release of content detailing real-world production stories, together with a case study of a virtual production broadcast studio build for Fox Sports, and highlights from Unreal Service Partners.

The guide includes production tips from Creative Works London, Disguise, Illuminarium, Moment Factory, Myreze, The Carolina Panthers, The Weather Channel, XR Studios, and others “showcasing real-time workflows for live sporting events, concerts, news, AR-enhanced broadcasts, and more”.

Epic Games said that broadcast and live events have “always embraced innovation, experimentation and next-generation technology to boost audience engagement”, adding that the field guide will help  broadcasters and content owners to “level up their own projects with Unreal Engine”.

The Broadcast and Live Events: Steal the Show online event, which runs until 14 October, provides insight on how leading creatives in broadcast and live events are using Unreal Engine to engage viewers with compelling stories, and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the build-out of the new Fox Sports virtual production studio leveraging real-time systems to deliver AR-enhanced broadcasts.
