MatchBox SMPTE ST 2110 upgrade strikes balance with SDI

The upgrade gives users SDI functionality with the added flexibility of SMPTE ST 2110, said the company

Hitomi Broadcast has announced SMPTE ST 2110 compatibility for MatchBox.

The enhancement enables integration of Hitomi’s lip-sync and latency measurement solution into IP broadcast environments, supporting  ST 2110 systems, aiming to provide users with increased flexibility. The IP interfacing options are also available on Hitomi’s IdentBox, said the company.

Users can update hardware by adding the new interface to their xFrame, which can accommodate up to four MatchBox modules, allowing both SDI and ST 2110 to co-exist and measure latency differences.

Russell Johnson, director at Hitomi, said, “As our customers navigate the challenges of migrating to IP solutions, we are committed to providing them with the tools they need to ensure seamless lip-sync and minimal latency. The integration of SMPTE ST 2110 compatibility into our MatchBox solution is a significant step in supporting our customers’ evolving requirements.”
