Grass Valley has announced its solutions have been selected by LNK Group as part of its transition to SMPTE ST 2110.
The Lithuanian TV group has deployed Grass Valley’s AMPP Media Operating System across five of its national television networks. Combining an on-premises primary system with cloud-based disaster recovery, the solutions replace LNK’s legacy playout environment, with Playout X and Framelight X running on AMPP Local at its Vilnius facility. The deployment follows a competitive tender process focused on ensuring reliability and operational resilience while increasing flexibility to enable the development of workflows and services.

Our objective was to maintain the reliability required for national television broadcasting while giving us more flexibility in how we deploy and develop our services. Moving our five networks to AMPP and Playout X alongside our transition to SMPTE ST 2110 provides that foundation.”
Redundant Playout X chains provide continuity across LNK’s five networks, which combine scheduled programming, advertising, live content, news and graphics. Support is provided for live inputs, secondary recordings, HTML5 graphics, advanced audio and SCTE insertion for downstream advertising on LNK’s digital platform.
Allowing applications to run on shared compute rather than dedicated hardware, AMPP provides the flexibility to introduce or change workflows. The deployment runs alongside LNK’s existing ST 2110 infrastructure, integrating software-defined applications with its wider IP environment.
Media management, logging, editing, record scheduling and content review are enabled by Framelight X, with high-resolution and proxy media held on central NAS storage. Replacing archive browsing and selection functionality previously used by traffic, scheduling and promo teams, the solution provides access to content within the existing Telestream DIVA archive.
Hannu Pro, Grass Valley’s Baltic region partner and certified AMPP Managed Service Partner, delivered the deployment, integrating integrated DIVA and Vantage with the new environment to meet LNK’s workflow requirements.
