USB-3 input for HD-SDI unveiled

A portable USB-3 device that optimises the transfer of HD-SDI signals to laptops, tablets and PCs is a key component of DekTec’s offering at IBC.

The bus-powered DTU-351 requires no power supply and enables access to 16 audio channels and other HANC and VANC packets.

When used in combination with DekTec’s SdEye Software, the DTU-351 becomes a portable SDI analysis tool, offering standard Y, Cb, Cr, R, G, B waveform and vectorscope displays plus analysis of SD, HD and 3G SDI signals.

The DTU-351 also features an audio analysis feature set that includes peak meter, loudness meter, surround meter, and detailed decoding of audio channel status and control packets. It can also decode SMPTE 2020-1-2008 Dolby metadata packets.

DekTec suggests that the unit can be used for various things including HD-SDI waveform analysis, HD-SDI recording and as an HD-SDI input for uncompressed video.

Also being showcased is the DTA-2165, an IP video card that supports the delivery of uncompressed video over IP at high-speed 10GbE rates in accordance with SMPTE and VSF standards.

A video-centric 10GbE adapter, 12 SDI/ASI and 12G BNC interfaces for OEM 4K/UHD applications and an H.264 encoder are also on show.
