IBC2025: Meet the speaker – Florian Gallier, Mo-Sys

Florian Gallier, strategic partnerships manager at Mo-Sys, will be discussing how cutting-edge virtual production workflows are empowering content creators and corporate communicators with greater levels of immersion and engagement

What will you be speaking about at IBC2025?

I will be talking on the Future Tech Stage this year, where I will be discussing how AR robotics and cutting-edge virtual production workflows are not only delivering operational optimisations for live broadcast, but also empowering content creators and corporate communicators with greater levels of immersion and engagement.

What do you hope the audience takes away from your session?

My aim with this talk is to showcase to attendees how, empowered by these latest, more accessible technologies and workflows, broadcasters, producers and content creators are set to deliver on a whole new wave of cross-platform immersive storytelling that is already starting to reshape the media landscape.

What do you view as the key technologies defining the industry at the moment?

AI is, of course, a factor across many industries, but for broadcast, I think the defining driver comes from our understanding of which specific use cases it can be beneficial for. Even with the rise of online and social, broadcast still retains great authority and accountability, so it is about harnessing efficiencies without risking credibility.

Why is IBC an important date in the media tech calendar?

With so many new challenges emerging for broadcasters, from funding models, audience behaviour and tech disruption, IBC is an essential event in the media tech calendar, not only to check out the latest innovations, but for the industry to come together and share knowledge and ideas as we look to navigate momentous technological shifts.

Other than your own session, which panels are you looking forward to at the Conference?

There are many great panels and keynotes I’m interested in, and it’s difficult to choose just one. The sessions in the Future Zone are especially relevant to today’s changing media landscape. I’m particularly interested in the discussions around partnerships that are already reshaping media delivery such as The Power of Collaboration: How Strategic Partnerships Are Transforming Broadcasting and YouTube’s Collaboration with Broadcasters: Better Together. These initiatives perfectly illustrate the kinds of applications we had in mind when developing our latest technologies, and I look forward to hearing how they continue to evolve.

Florian Gallier will deliver the keynote, Latest Tech Innovation for Authentic Media Experiences from Film and Broadcast to Communication, at the Future Tech Stage on Friday 12th September at 3.45pm.
