Yahoo has launched its own hub for eSports content.
The hub will feature live tournaments, commentary and features, in addition to interviews with gaming vloggers.
The move follows a surge in the popularity of video games as spectator sports in recent years, and the hub will compete with current eSports leaders Youtube Gaming and Twitch.
Twitch, owned by Amazon, currently boasts around 55 million users.
“We’re approaching our coverage of eSports with the same tenacity and professionalism we always have with Yahoo Sports, News and Finance,” said Bob Condor, Yahoo Sports Media vice president.
“We’ve gone out and assembled an experienced and innovative content team that will cover eSports from every angle.”
Yahoo reportedly intends to focus its eSports coverage on League of Legends, Dota 2, Heroes of the Storm, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Street Fighter V.
It will provide stat tracking and focused reporting, while also featuring content from gaming sites Polygon and GameSpot.
