Vodafone Ireland launches TV services

Vodafone Ireland has launched TV services in the country for the first time

Vodafone Ireland has launched TV services in the country for the first time.

The telecoms company has also announced TV Anywhere app, included in the price of the Vodafone TV package.

The launches comes on the back of a study carried out by Amárach Research on behalf on Vodafone, which investigated the change in Irish viewing habits with the emergence of OTT. It found that one quarter of Irish adults now view TV content on-demand, with a further quarter using online steaming. Vodafone concluded that its customers need flexibility in when and where they can access content, and claims the product is tailor-made to their needs.

Ciaran Barrett, head of consumer fixed at Vodafone Ireland, said, “This is a significant move for Vodafone in the Irish market, offering a full TV service to our customers for the first time. We’ve listened to our customers to understand what kind of TV service they want and we believe we are delivering great content with an excellent experience that brings convenience and seamless viewing from the home into the hand.”

Vodafone TV claims it has the most versatile service in the Irish market, with a dedicated Netflix button on their remote control.

Its television services, which are delivered via broadband, are available at a minimum of 40mb per second.
