TVBEurope January/February 2024 issue out now

TVBEurope kicks off 2024 with a new look, as well as a deep dive into virtual production. Plus, we look at the ongoing convergence between pro-AV and broadcast, take a trip to the Moon, and investigate the latest additions to NMOS

TVBEurope is kicking off the new year with a new look to our magazine.

We’re starting 2024 with a focus on virtual production as it crosses over from a disruptor to the mainstream.

We hear from the team at dock10 about how they helped pull off one of the biggest TV surprises of 2023, and we stand on the same virtual production stage as Robert De Niro at ARRI Stage London.

For our cover feature, we talk to The Moonwalkers: A Journey with Tom Hanks producer Richard Slaney about how the immersive experience uses real footage from the Moon to tell the story of the 12 men who have stood on the lunar surface.

Elsewhere, cinematographer Martin Ruhe tells Jenny Priestley about the challenge of filming on water for new film The Boys in the Boat, and editor Kevin Tent discusses his working relationship with The Holdovers director Alexander Payne.

We take a look at the blurred lines between broadcast and pro-AV; David Davies investigates how a new era of operational control, monitoring and more is promised with the latest additions to NMOS; EVS CTO Alex Redfern tells us what he thinks will be the big areas of discussion in the media tech industry during 2024; and Kevin Emmott hears how one of the UK’s largest post production houses streamlined its revisioning processes.
