Developer of video tools Red Giant, known for its Magic Bullet product line, has announced its acquisition of the products and related intellectual property of Singular Software, a developer of workflow automation applications for video production.

Developer of video tools Red Giant, known for its Magic Bullet product line, has announced its acquisition of the products and related intellectual property of Singular Software, a developer of workflow automation applications for video production.

This partnership is a natural fit for two companies with a similar vision and culture, and the upcoming release of PluralEyes 3.0 will make professional syncing for audio and video fast, easy and accurate.

Red Giant’s Magic Bullet product line focuses on colour correction and visual storytelling. Singular Software’s PluralEyes (pictured) is used for audio/video workflow synchronisation, which works with all the major video editors. Together PluralEyes and Magic Bullet bring filmmakers and editors into the edit faster.

The entire Singular Software team is partnering with Red Giant, which keeps an important continuity in engineering and support. All development for Singular Software products will continue full-steam, with PluralEyes 3.0 for Mac scheduled for release in summer 2012. Going forward, Singular Software technology will be a crucial part of Red Giant’s plans for new filmmaking and workflow products.

From 9 July, all Singular Software products will become part of the Red Giant portfolio, including:

– PluralEyes for automated syncing of audio tracks and multi-camera video
– DualEyes for audio replacement for DSLR users
– CloudEyes, a set of audio/video synchronisation services for developers
– Singular Software Presto, a quick, easy way to create professional quality videos of presentations
– All intellectual property for the related technology

The products will continue to be sold and supported through Singular Software’s website over the next couple of months. In Q3 2012, Red Giant will complete their integration of the Singular Software products, and all sales and support will move to RedGiant.com.

Pricing and product offerings will remain unchanged during the transition, and pricing for PluralEyes 3.0 will be announced on release.
