Early bird registration opens for SMPTE’s 2023 Media Technology Summit

Attendees will have access to both peer-reviewed technical sessions and invited presentations and panels on the industry’s most pressing issues

SMPTE has opened early registration for the 2023 Media Technology Summit, which brings together global industry leaders to share their latest research findings and offer solutions to industry issues.

Early bird pricing for this year’s conference lasts until August 12th. Once early bird pricing ends, those who wish to participate in the conference will pay the going rate at the time of registration, said SMPTE.

Attendees will have access to both peer-reviewed technical sessions and invited presentations and panels on the industry’s most pressing issues, as well as to the Emerging Technology sessions in the Solutions Hub and all the new features of this year’s conference.

Some of the new conference features this year include The Solutions Hub, which is the transformed exhibit hall, focused entirely on solutions-based exhibits, and includes an area dedicated to the colour science of digital cinema – the SMPTE Spectrum. The SMPTE Colour Bar and Lounge, sponsored by Signiant, is a casual space where attendees can share a drink with colleagues or hold an impromptu meeting.

In addition to the technical programme and Emerging Technology sessions, attendees will also be able to select one of three off-site programming experiences to attend on Thursday, October 19th. Options will include an immersive experience, a virtual production studio, and a live broadcasting facility. Transportation will be provided.

“The 2023 Media Technology Summit is shaping up to be an exciting exploration of color and emerging technologies,” said SMPTE executive director David Grindle about this year’s conference. “Attendees will benefit from a wide variety of professionals who will present cutting-edge and immediately applicable information.”

The 2023 Media Technology Summit takes place at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in the Ovation Hollywood, Los Angeles, from 16-19th October.
