S Media Nation is due to launch in the third quarter of 2023 and aims to be the new German home of sports other than football

Andreas Heyden has been appointed CEO of new German streaming service, S Nation Media.

He has previously worked at Deutsche Fussball League as chief executive of DFL Digital Sports, the digital content and distribution subsidiary of the league.

Heyden has worked across various aspects of the media industry, including video on demand (VoD), over-the-top content (OTT), and in augmented reality, AI, and 5G applications.

S Media Nation is due to launch in the third quarter of 2023 and aims to be the new German home of sports other than football.

Speaking about Heyden’s appointment, S Nation Media COO Christian Siefert said: “In recent years, Andreas Heyden has played a key role in driving the digital transformation of professional soccer in Germany. Like no other in the media industry, he stands for innovation and digitalisation, and a clear focus on the consumer.

“We are really delighted to have secured the services of Andreas Heyden for S Nation Media. He will lend further strong impetus to the growth of our streaming platform.”

Heyden added: “I very much look forward to my new task of creating a digital home for the sports that place their trust in us as well as for their fans.”
