Sky Deutschland to deploy AI-driven technology across premium sports properties

The broadcaster will utilise WSC Sports' AI-driven technology to create real-time short-form digital video across its OTT, web, and social media accounts

Sky Deutschland has signed a deal to employ AI technology from WSC Sports across its coverage of coverage of the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga, English Premier League, and Formula 1.

The broadcaster will utilise WSC Sports’ AI-driven technology to create real-time short-form digital video across its OTT, web, and social media accounts. In addition, Sky Deutschland will leverage the WSC Sports platform to generate and distribute broadcast-quality long-form content for its linear channels.

Sky Deutschland will also use WSC Sport’s end-to-end storytelling solution to create real-time highlights from the EPL that appear in Google’s prime search location, OneBox.

“WSC Sports’ AI-driven technology will help us share even more of our award-winning programming and premium content with our audiences and, through their innovative storytelling solution, enable us to reach out to far more German sports fans than before,” said Alessandro Reitano, senior vice president sports production at Sky Deutschland.

“This is a hugely important partnership for WSC Sports. Sky is known for broadcasting excellence and innovation so it is gratifying that they see the value our technology brings and how it can complement and amplify their award-winning sports content,” added WSC Sports chief business development officer and co-founder, Aviv Arnon.

“The scale of this partnership is a testament to the advanced capabilities of our platform that enables us to support longer-form content with the same speed and accuracy as short-form social videos.”
