German sports streamer Dyn zooms in on the action with AI-automated cameras

As part of its ecosystem, Dyn Media chose Pixellot to provide additional camera feeds for both its Handball Bundesliga and Basketball Bundesliga workflows

New German sports streaming Dyn has partnered with Pixellot to install AI-automated sports cameras at 38 sports venues throughout the country.

Dyn Media, the sports streaming platform by former DFL chief executive Christian Seifert and publishing house Axel Springer launched last month and is focusing on basketball, handball, table tennis, volleyball and hockey.

As part of its ecosystem, Dyn Media chose Pixellot to provide additional camera feeds for both its Handball Bundesliga and Basketball Bundesliga workflows.

Pixellot’s AI-automated end-to-end sports production and streaming solution enables live and on-demand broadcasting without requiring a camera operator or producer on-site.

The implementation of Pixellot’s technology aims to augment Dyn Media’s live production workflow with AI-automated video as additional camera signal and backup infrastructure for the broadcasting ecosystem, said the company.

“Choosing an innovative company like Pixellot allows us to embrace new technologies to improve our infrastructure and deliver a robust production solution,” said Andreas Heyden, chief executive officer of Dyn Media. “Pixellot’s technology is field-proven, and it made complete sense to make it an integral part of our production workflow.”
