OSN deploys Bitmovin tech across Wavo platform

Allows OSN to adjust bitrate requirements to optimise delivery

OSN has deployed online video technology from Bitmovin to deliver content across its Wavo streaming service.

The English and Arabic streaming platform was said to benefit from Bitmovin’s encoding features, such as multi-codec, per-title and three-pass encoding, allowing OSN to adjust the bitrate requirements to optimise the delivery of each asset.

According to OSN, the MENA entertainment provider can now offer content on the Wavo platform faster, with improved picture quality and reduced operational costs.

“Consumers in the MENA region embraced online video early on and demand high-quality content that is available at any time and on any device,” said Bitmovin CEO Stefan Lederer. “OSN has a track record of investing in innovative and creative technology to offer the most advanced, comfortable and affordable viewing experience to its subscribers.

“We are proud that OSN selected Bitmovin to help facilitate its media supply chain workflows and optimise content encoding to the highest standard.”
