Mission Digital enters voluntary administration, splits operations into two companies

Mission Production Technology and Origami Platform will now operate as two independent businesses

TV and film digital workflow solutions company Mission Digital has announced it has split into two companies after appointing administrators last month.

The business voluntarily appointed Antony Batty & Company Ltd on 29th June.

It has now announced plans to split in two, with Mission Production Technology and Origami Platform operating as two independent businesses.

Mission’s day-to-day operations, digital dailies and on-location services to current and upcoming productions continue without interruption, added the company. Origami is a workflow orchestration platform that connects media, metadata and infrastructure.

Mark Purvis, CEO of Mission Production Technology and Origami Platform, said, “We built Origami because we saw an opportunity to rethink how productions manage media and metadata. As the platform evolved, it became clear that both businesses would be stronger operating independently.

“This restructuring creates the right foundation for Mission Production Technology to continue delivering exceptional services, while enabling Origami to grow as an independent software company with global ambitions,” added Purvis. “We believe this marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for both businesses.”
