Mediaset scores Euro 2020 rights

Deal also includes 80 matches featuring foreign national teams

Spain’s Mediaset has acquired the rights to UEFA Euro 2020.

Mediaset’s agreement with UEFA includes a package of 80 matches of foreign national teams, with a preferential choice of games, across the qualifying tournaments for Euro 2020 and the 2022 Fifa World Cup, along with friendly games in the new Nations League tournament.

It is expected to broadcast the Euro 2020 games on its free to air channels.

The broadcaster previously held the Spanish rights for both Euro 2012 and 2016.

Euro 2020 matches will be held in 12 different countries across Europe to mark the tournament’s 60th anniversary. The final will take place in London at Wembley Stadium.
