Mediaset has raised its stake in ProSiebenSat.1 to just under 20 per cent as it moves forward with its plans to create pan-European TV platform MediaForEurope (MFE).
The Italian company increased its stake in ProSiebenSat.1 from 15.1 per cent, putting pressure on the German group’s chief executive Max Conze for a closer tie-up with Mediaset.
The stake includes Mediaset Espana’s 9.75 per cent share and Milan-based Mediaset’s 9.6 per cent.
The Berlusconi-owned company is seeking to persuade ProSiebenSat.1 to join MFE, despite an ongoing court dispute with minority shareholder Vivendi.
