London-based digital media services provider JCA has installed a Signiant system to automate, accelerate and manage the secure exchange of digital media files with its clients, writes David Fox.
“Our business depends on systems that allow us to connect seamlessly with our clients and transfer large, high-value media assets as quickly as possible in order to maintain tight delivery schedules,” said Simon Kay, JCA’s managing director.
“We adopted Signiant at the request of several of our clients, as it offers the flexibility and managed security we need to accelerate delivery of digital material, without having to deal with the delays involved in tape shipments.”
JCA provides a full range of services for digitizing, formatting, creating and delivering content for many broadcast and cinema companies, including BBC Worldwide, Channel 4, DRG, Fremantle Media, Classic Media, ITV and KidsCo. With Signiant agents installed in their own environments, JCA’s clients can quickly and securely exchange large media files with the facility.
“By enabling fast, reliable and secure movement of large media files over a WAN, Signiant is playing an important role in helping JCA meet its own high standards,” said David Nortier, Signiant’s managing director, EMEA (pictured).
The system’s B2B content peering technology will enable JCA and its clients to extend their internal network security policies across enterprise boundaries, which should ensure secure and seamless flow of content.
