IBC Content Everywhere MENA takes place in Dubai on 20-22 January, 2015, the second in a new series of global events powered by IBC that cover all aspects of the emergent second screen and IP workflows. The growth in the media sector in the region — mobile and broadband in particular — is impressive: mobile penetration is now up to 109 per cent, while Cisco estimates that Middle East mobile data traffic will grow 77 per cent CAGR to 2017 – the highest growth for any region — and the average mobile speed will reach nearly 3Mbps over the same period.

Designed from the outset to be content rich and informative, the shows exploit the radical new Touch & Connect devices that use near-field communications technology to allow attendees to exchange contact details or information by simply touching device-to-device or device to tag. 10,000 of these were distributed to attendees in Amsterdam and they will be deployed again in Dubai, allowing attendees to extend their show experience online and across the whole of the forthcoming year.

An exclusive exhibition features some of the main players pioneering technologies in the new digital spaces, while a high-level, three-day conference harnesses the input of visionary speakers and thought-leaders from around the world to examine the diverse implications and opportunities arising out of the Content Everywhere paradigm for the region and beyond.

Anchored by a series of compelling keynotes, the Conference programme features a mixture of panel discussions, real world case studies and high-level debates which will arm delegates with the strategic knowledge they need to adapt their businesses to the forthcoming changes. The IBC Content Everywhere MENA Hub, meanwhile, will feature a programme of free-to attend sessions and product demonstrations exploring the new technologies, all of which will help in providing insights into the consumer behaviours, business models and technologies driving growth in the sector.

The Hub also features the Download Wall, which enables attendees to collect session and demonstration presentations as well as brochures, white papers, data sheets and other material from exhibitors using their personal Touch & Connect devices. All this, together with contact details of other users that have been met, can be reviewed online in the Touch & Connect portal.

As well as all the virtual networking it will support, the Hub will also act as a central location for informal meetings and networking. Networking opportunities are very much a central part of what IBC Content Everywhere MENA is about, care being taken to ensure a vibrant, collaborative environment throughout the show where attendees can not only examine the future developments in technology, policy and operations but meet some of the people that are shaping them too.
