German AI-powered camera company secures investment from Jürgen Klopp

Sporttotal has developed fully-automated cameras, which leverage AI-powered software to follow the action, stream video and add graphic packages and statistical overlays

Sporttotal, which uses artificial intelligence to deliver automated live sports streaming, has secured investment from Liverpool Football Club manager Jürgen Klopp.

The Cologne-based company recently worked with MagentaTV on last winter’s FIFA World Cup, and also operates online sports video and streaming site sporttotal.tv.

It has developed fully-automated cameras, which leverage AI-powered software to follow the action, stream video and add graphic packages and statistical overlays. Sporttotal’s technology can edit highlight clips of each game using artificial intelligence.

“It’s great to be able watching the game of your choice ‘live’, wherever you are,” said Klopp. “It doesn’t matter if you want to see a game of your child, your friends, your favourite team or if you are a scout who is looking for new talent.”
