CBS, Viacom ‘agree new management structure’

New company will be led by Viacom CEO Bob Bakish

Ahead of a possible merger announcement this week, CBS and Viacom have reportedly agreed on a new management structure for the new company.

According to reports, current Viacom Bob Bakish is expected to head up the new company, with acting CBS CEO Joe Iannellio likely to run the CBS assets in a senior role.

Sources close to the company are reported to have said the new management structure is an effort to “draw from our strongest strengths.”

Both CBS and Viacom are scheduled to report quarterly earnings on Thursday. The boards of the companies are both said to have circled that date as to when they could formalise a deal.
