Multi-platform online video network BuzzMyVideos has announced a 140 per cent year on year growth in views to its site, now totalling over half a billion every month. New international content creators have been added to its network, supported by an aggressive hiring strategy and cross platform distribution and monetisation deals.
To manage its rapid expansion which saw 2,500 years worth of online video content watched in October 2015, BuzzMyVideos has more than doubled the size of the team during 2015 including the addition of a CFO and CTO, and strengthened international operations with teams dedicated to Turkey, Italy, Russia and Spanish speaking regions.
The startup expects the team to double in size once again by early 2016,including the addition of further senior management roles as development of the technology behind the network accelerates to encompass multi-device and multi-platform offerings for creators and brands.
“In 2015 we have invested heavily in our creators and building the technology to enhance the growth in their audiences internationally,” said co-founder and CEO Paola Marinone. “We have also experienced a very interesting and robust demand from brands to work more closely with international creators. 2016 will be a stand out year for us as we continue this investment to increase audience reach for both brands and creators with our unique tech touch.”
Predictions from ZenithOptimedia suggest that global daily viewing will increase by 19.8 per cent in 2016 with 56 per cent of viewing next year taking place on mobile phones.
BuzzMyVideos will be expanding the tools on offer to its creators, and will be expanding into new geographies into 2016, with a clear strategy for multi-device and multi-platform promotion.
