Interra debuts industry-first support for Sony 360

Interra will be integrating the Sony object-based 360 spatial sound technology into its BATON enterprise-class QC solution

Interra Systems announced it will be the first company to integrate Sony’s 360 Reality Audio into a file-based quality control (QC) solution.

A provider of end-to-end quality assurance solutions to the digital media industry, Interra will be integrating the Sony object-based 360 spatial sound technology into its BATON enterprise-class QC solution in Q3 2024, becoming the first-to-market, said the company.

Interra Systems aims to provide broadcasters and streaming services with end-to-end quality assurance for every stage of the content life cycle – including in-depth video analysis, media QC and monitoring, and captioning – streamlining content preparation and delivery across all stages of both IP and OTT workflows.

The company’s BATON suite includes the enterprise-class BATON automated QC system; BATON Captions solution with live captioning and machine learning scoring capabilities; ORION content monitoring platforms for 24/7 quality assurance; and VEGA media analysers for in-depth video inspection, debugging, and standards compliance.

“360 Reality Audio is a cutting-edge experience that has the potential to open up exciting new business opportunities for Interra Systems and its customers,” said Ashish Basu, executive vice president at Interra Systems. “This integration not only prioritises the end-user but signals a new era of high-quality audio delivery.”
