AWS makes generative AI application builder available to all

Among the first organisations to use the technology is the PGA Golf Tour, which is employing Amazon Bedrock to create engaging fan experiences

Amazon Web Services has announced the general availability of Amazon Bedrock, a fully managed service that makes foundation models (FMs) from leading AI companies available through a single application programming interface (API).

FMs are very large machine learning (ML) models that are pre-trained on vast amounts of data, said the company. The flexibility of FMs makes them applicable to a wide range of use cases, including content creation.

Users can easily experiment with a variety of top FMs and customise them privately with their proprietary data, added AWS.

Amazon Bedrock is serverless, meaning users don’t have to manage any infrastructure, and can securely integrate and deploy generative AI capabilities into their applications using the AWS services, said the company.

Among the first organisations to use the technology is the PGA Golf Tour, which is employing Amazon Bedrock to create engaging fan experiences.

“Together with AWS, we have been transforming the way golf content is created, distributed, and experienced,” said Scott Gutterman, senior vice president of Digital Operations at the PGA TOUR. “Now using Amazon Bedrock, we will break new ground as we reimagine how golf fans connect with and follow our sport. Leveraging generative AI will enable us to create new touchpoints for our fans, and create an AI platform to evaluate players’ game performance and make recommendations for adjustments on different holes or courses. AWS allows us to unlock more value from our data while providing a secure environment to protect our intellectual property.”
