Samsung Electronics has formed a partnership with SVoD platform Rakuten Wuaki for a major expansion of Samsung’s TV Plus service.
It means TV Plus will now be made available in the UK, France, Spain and Italy. It was already available in Germany.
The service allows Samsung QLED smart TV owners to access IP-based VoD channels run by Rakuten Wuaki offering the latest 4K HDR movies from Hollywood on a TVoD basis via a Rakuten Wuaki 4K channel.
“Through TV PLUS, Rakuten and Samsung have been able to come together to offer consumers a wide variety of content options from an assortment of different genres and interests. A complete offer for everyone in the family,” said Jacinto Roca, chief executive officer of Rakuten Wuaki.
“Rakuten is excited to grow our partnership with Samsung as we continue to look for new, innovative ways for users to consume the content they desire.”
