R&S Clipster extends support for Dolby Atmos, Polsat selects Sony for new OB van, and more

Rohde & Schwarz is releasing a new version of its R&S Clipster mastering system that extends support for Dolby Atmos multichannel surround sound production technology and the latest IMF (ST2067-X) delivery standards.

The new software upgrade (version 6.9.1.) is specifically targeted at producers of home entertainment content. It is designed to ensure media content can be mastered and delivered via the widest range of IMF-compliant streaming service providers, said Rohde & Schwarz.

Clipster users can now add all variants of Dolby Atmos files to their edit timeline and can edit them like any other file. IMF packages that feature Dolby Atmos can be created to ensure delivery of quality content, as well as perform real-time QC, including for the immersive audio tracks prior to and after creation of the deliverable.

Sony delivers 4K IP truck for Polsat

Polish broadcaster Polsat is set to take delivery of a new 4K IP Outside Broadcasting truck from Sony Professional Solutions.

The 14 metre OB trailer will be fully equipped with a suite of Sony’s latest technologies, including HDC-3500 & HDC-P50 4K HDR cameras, XVS-9000 video switcher, PWS-4500 Video Server and PVM/BVM Professional Monitors.

Sony’s Live Element Orchestrator and IP Live System Manager have been selected for the entire Management Control and Monitoring of the system build around COTS IP Switches from Cisco. The overall system responds to the latest SMPTE 2110 & AMWA NMOS suite of open standards, enabling interoperability with current & future systems Polsat will plans to build around the truck.

The vehicle also includes an SSL audio mixer, Riedel talkback system, Fujinon lenses, Imagine Selenio Networked Processor for multiviewers, VISLINK wireless links, Leader SPG and WFM-s, BroaMan fibre links, and Cisco for networking.

Sony is due to deliver the truck in 2021.

Vizrt aims to make complex channel branding graphics simple

Vizrt has announced the launch of Vizrt Channel Branding, which is designed to simplify the use of identity, branding and content cross-promotion with channel branding graphics.

The solution enables users to import data from traffic and scheduling applications and automatically create playlists, reducing manual processes. The software provides up-to-the-second sync with automation systems for data and trigger control. Accurate content delivery, dynamic data-driven graphics and automatic error checks are also available.

According to the company, one operator can control multiple channels from a single interface of Vizrt Channel Branding. The software augments technical capabilities of master control environments and the marketing capabilities of promotional departments to serve single channel facilities up to large network operations.

Vizrt Channel Branding is available as part of the company’s Flexible Access subscription model.
