Moov-ing into virtual production

The first installation of MOOV's new virtual production technology is at Timeline Television’s studio at Ealing Broadcast Centre

MOOV is launching a new virtual production division.

The newly formed MVXR will focus on exploiting key areas of virtual production and emerging technologies, and is aimed at enhancing productivity and continuing to lift barriers for all types of content creators, said the company.

“Most days of the week we are generally live with virtual studio or AR projects, that use a combination of green screen and set extension techniques,” said Nev Appleton, director and co-founder of MOOV.

“Our continued investment in technology and ongoing commitment in growing skills, enables us to navigate technology issues and focus on being creative, but also being able to work to different levels of production and budget. MVXR will now add virtual production and XR into the mix, and along with GhostFrame we are super excited.”

The first installation of the technology is at Timeline Television’s fully connected 3500 sq. feet studio at Ealing Broadcast Centre.

According to MOOV, it has the world’s fastest GhostFrame solution, enabling up to eight tracked cameras to shoot from different viewpoints in real-time.

The studio also includes a large ROE Black Pearle V2 screen with HELIOS processing, along with Mo-sys Tracking and a wide range of rendering capability based on Unreal Engine 5.
