French tech news platform Frandroid employs latest virtual production technology

The Leyard VEM1.8 LED solution, installed by integrator Solutions Audiovisuelles (SAV), was chosen following a demonstration of its capabilities

Frandroid, a France-based technology platform, has launched a new studio employing virtual production technology from Leyard Europe.

The Leyard VEM1.8 LED solution, installed by integrator Solutions Audiovisuelles (SAV), was chosen following a demonstration of its capabilities.

“We conducted an extensive test using Frandroid’s planned camera equipment for the new studio,” explained Sylvain Piquois, key account manager at SAV.

“Following the demo, the Frandroid team was convinced that Leyard’s VEM1.8 LED display was the perfect solution for them, thanks to its cabinet design and attractive pricing.”

According to Leyard, the VEM Series’ flexible cabinet design enables easy formation of three- or four-sided shapes, making it ideal for creative display applications, with its special six-axis alignment features ensuring the video wall can be perfectly aligned and seamless.

“We had to construct the screen at a precise 90-degree angle while still ensuring an optimal viewing experience,” added Piquois. “With the full support of the Leyard team, who worked closely with us throughout the process, we achieved a perfect 90-degree display with zero millimetre gap.”

Arnaud Gelineau, creative producer and team manager at Frandroid said the LED screen remains at the heart of the platform’s activities, especially during live broadcasts on Twitch. “To meet our production needs, we connected the screen to a fully remote-controlled PC. This approach has automated all operations, simplifying the screen’s start-up and the display of content corresponding to each programme. The goal was to ensure absolute transparency in use.”
