Paramount+ is expected to launch on 1st October

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) will launch a new SVoD platform in the Nordic region at the beginning of October.

Paramount+ will offer viewers new film releases from Paramount Pictures, classic films and more than 800 episodes of popular programmes from Viacom-owned networks MTV and Comedy Central.

The platform will launch on 1st October and will be available to premium subscribers of YouSee in Denmark; Com Hem in Sweden; Get in Norway and Telenor/Canal Digital in all three countries.

The new streaming service will have its own branded environment in each of the pay-TV operator’s user interfaces.

Andrea Sahlgren, SVP and general managerfor VIMN Nordics, said: “Paramount+ is a groundbreaking concept for us and an important extension of our pay-TV offer to our linear distribution partners. It’s the first time we’re aggregating first run movie rights with our TV content under the Paramount brand for SVoD access, available for our pay-TV operators only.”
