Italy’s Rai has launched Rai Play, a free OTT service delivering live streams of its linear channels.
Rai Play, which will be launched this week, has reportedly been in development for over a year.
It will offer live streams for all of Rai’s current services Rai 1, Rai 2, Rai 3, Rai Sport, as well as children’s options RaiYoyo and Rai Gulp.
Antonio Campo dall’Orto, Rai general manager, said, “We can give Italians an additional service, which includes the ability to watch programmes whenever they want, even those who at that time are not on the air, in addition to other services around content.”
Rai Play will also be available via dedicated iOS and Android apps.
