Netflix has suggested that the company could crack down on password sharing.
Research by Magid found that 35 per cent of millennials, 19 per cent of Gen Xers and 13 per cent of Baby Boomers share their passwords for streaming services, thereby circumventing Netflix’s business model of one account per household.
“We continue to monitor it so we’re looking at the situation,” said Netflix CPO Greg Peters. “We’ll see those consumer-friendly ways to push on the edges of that.”
He added that the company has no “big plans” to announce immediately.
