Disney, Adobe honoured at Motion Picture Academy’s Scientific and Technical Awards

Medusa Performance Capture System and Light Stage X won for the visuals on Avengers: Infinity War

The Motion Picture Academy’s Scientific and Technical Awards has recognised Disney and Adobe special effects technology for their use on blockbuster movies.

Disney’s Medusa Performance Capture System and Light Stage X was honoured for the visuals on Avengers: Infinity War, while Adobe Photoshop and After Effects also won awards.

Meanwhile Cold War and The Crown were among the winners at the 33rd annual American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) Awards, alongside Giorgi Shvelidze (Spotlight Award for Namme) and Franz Kraus (the Bud Stone Award).

At the BAFTAs, Roma took home the Best Cinematography prize and Black Panther won the Visual Effects category. Vice picked up the award for Editing, while Bohemian Rhapsody won for Sound.
