Amazon ‘nets US Open rights’

Company is thought to have paid £30 million for five-year deal

Amazon has reportedly signed a deal for the UK TV rights of the US Open for the next five years.

According to The Guardian, the streamer has paid £30 million for a five-year deal – although this has not been confirmed.

Earlier this week, Eurosport announced it had signed a new five-year deal to continue broadcasting the tournament across Europe – however this does not include the UK.

Amazon has already captured the rights to the Next Gen ATP Finals.

TVBEurope has contacted Amazon for comment.
