Out! Amazon Prime ‘set to give up’ tennis streaming rights

Streamer is said to have decided not to renew its exclusive rights package with the ATP and WTA tours

Amazon Prime is reportedly planning to not renew its deal to stream a number of tennis tournaments to UK viewers.

The Times reports the company has decided not to renew its exclusive rights package with the ATP and WTA tours when the current five-year deal ends in 2023.

The report suggests Sky Sports has already secured the rights to the US Open next year.

Amazon Prime first announced it had agreed a deal to the US Open in 2018, with 2019’s event the first tournament available to Prime members.

In 2021, Prime shared coverage of the women’s final between Emma Raducanu and Laylah Fernandez with free-to-air broadcaster Channel 4.
