Forget 5G, Samsung’s already discussing 6G

Company also looking at blockchain and AI

The vice chairman of Samsung has revealed the electronics company is already discussing the arrival of 6G.

Jay Y Lee met with the five heads of Samsung’s core divisions to look at potential collaboration with platform companies on 6G mobile networks, blockchain technologies and artificial intelligence, reports Bloomberg.

“We should challenge ourselves with a resolution to make new foundations, moving beyond the scope of protecting our past achievements,” said Lee.

Donald Trump has previously called for the United States to begin implementing 6G as soon as possible, but as 5G has barely launched standards for the technology have not yet been defined.
