3 Screen Solutions (3SS) and Media Distillery have partnered on an AI-based platform for TV service personalisation.
The platform uses machine learning methodologies to recognise visual and audio aspects inside video, including faces, speech, topics, logos and text. This deep content understanding and indexing of what makes up an item of video content enables user searches that yield diverse and accurate results.
Media Distillery’s AI technology makes each item of content searchable by creating an unusually broad range of metadata. Meanwhile 3SS’ 3READY front end and UI/UX solution helps subscribers easily discover and access content across sources, whether on connected TV, set-top box, games console, mobile device or browser.

The solution is said to help operators become better content aggregators, allowing them to gain deeper understanding of the content they own and/or have rights to use. It also enables the operator to execute next-generation advertising strategies; relevant ads can be served which are tailored to users’ tastes and interests.
