EditShare has announced it has partnered with Tyrell to implement a further storage network at sports and entertainment production company, Whisper.
The new installation adds three EditShare EFS-300 storage systems, each of which has a capacity of 256 TB. The solutions provide users with a single namespace, aiming to increase operational simplicity and security, with the architecture expandable to provide more than a petabyte if necessary.
Gareth Steven, head of post production at Whisper, said, “We already have two EditShare storage nodes that we rely on, and which have proven extremely reliable over a number of years. This new project calls for content to be created and managed over an extended period of time, with large production teams accessing and editing the content simultaneously. EditShare and Tyrell showed us that the scalability and workflow functionality met our requirements perfectly.”

The network was installed in February and is in use supporting Whisper’s latest documentary productions.
