Broadcast designers using Vizrt World now have access to high resolution satellite images from leading supplier DigitalGlobe. The new online service enables designers to quickly find, preview and add images directly into broadcast graphics. Users search the DigitalGlobe archive from within the familiar Viz World interface. Because the images are available in high resolution formats, the designer can add dynamic touchscreen tools so that presenters can move around the picture, or resize it, on air. The DigitalGlobe images are sourced from its out satellite constellation. The company employs skilled image analysts, so is regularly able to provide pictures of news stories, in the political and environmental domains, as they are breaking. Viz World users have access to these current pictures as well as the archive, meaning that newsrooms can monitor high-risk events as they unfold, using images from before, during and after the event to tell the story. “Providing on-demand access to our imagery through Viz World gives broadcasters one more critical tool,” said Andrea Bersa, international vice president at DigitalGlobe. “With direct access to the largest, most consistently updated repository production teams can be confident they are using the latest imagery available, with worldwide coverage and maximum accuracy.”
