TVN24 adds 4K/UHD capabilities with Sony PXW-Z750 camcorders

New cameras feature high sensitivity and vivid colour reproduction

Polish news channel TVN24 has received 10 Sony PXW-Z750 4K camcorders to future-proof its infrastructure.

The investment is set to facilitate 4K/UHD output, replacing more than 80 PDW-700 and PMW-500 Sony shoulder camcorders currently in use.

The new Z750 camcorders enable 4K, HDR and HFR images with high sensitivity and vivid colour reproduction.

Hiroshi Kajita, Sony’s head of media solutions, and Jarosław Kielmel, TVN’s CTO

Jarosław Kielmel, technology department director at TVN Discovery Polska, said: “Having invested in various Sony broadcasting solutions over the years, we were keen to work with Sony to help us future-proof our news production capabilities, ready to migrate to 4K in the years to come.

“We’re incredibly impressed by the picture quality of the PXW-Z750, particularly when shooting in HD thanks to its 3CMOS sensors. Combined with the increased flexibility it provides us with, the PXW-Z750 is fast becoming our go-to camcorder for our 24-hour news broadcasting operations.”

Sebastian Leske, product manager at Sony Professional Solutions Europe, added: “We are continuing to see a significant increase in the demand for 4K/UHD, HDR and IP capabilities, as broadcasters look to deliver the best picture quality to their audiences.

“At Sony, we work closely with our customers, partners and the wider industry to develop solutions that meet the evolving needs of the news production industry. The Z750 is just one of those solutions and, thanks to its advanced set of features, the demand for it by organisations around the world, including TVN24, has been phenomenal.”
