Sky to broadcast world first PPV UHD boxing match

Anthony Joshua's fight will be available in UHD on SkyQ

Sky will become the first broadcaster to show a pay-per-view event in Ultra HD this weekend.

Anthony Joshua’s fight against Joseph Parker in Cardiff, and all undercard matches, on 31st March will be available for SkyQ customers in UHD.

Sky says their UHD offers picture quality that is four times better than that of HD television.

Adam Smith, Sky Sports head of boxing, commented: “With the addition of Ultra HD, this will be a night of boxing like you’ve never seen before. Every punch and movement during the fight will be amplified on screen and each drop of sweat will be enhanced with four times better picture quality. The technology enables Sky Sports Box Office to bring you closer to the action in the ring than ever before.”
