RR Media has joined forces with WSC Sports Technologies, combining the company’s global digital media services and reach with WSC’s automatic clipping and video highlights generation platform.
Through the partnership, RR Media will offer its worldwide customer base WSC’s technology, which automatically detects every event in a sports competition as it happens and creates customised highlights based on these events. These highlights can be used for broadcast purposes in news highlights and post game programming as well as for online video and social media platforms.
The solution is designed to enable broadcasters and sports rights holders to produce automated short form content which is customised to their needs and brand, converging delivery across traditional broadcast and new media platforms from a single source.
Customers can expand their reach through gaining greater exposure from broadcast, mobile, online, VoD and social media platforms. At the same time, sports fans can interact with this newly created highlights content in timeframes that were previously unattainable.
“The partnership with WSC demonstrates RR Media’s ability to open up new revenue opportunities for our customers,” commented Elad Manishviz, CMO of RR Media. “We have understood their needs and are seeking to provide new value-added services which take short form content to expanded audiences at an unparalleled speed, engage with fans and create greater reach by driving their content through broadcast and new media platforms.”
Daniel Shichman, CEO of WSC, added, “We are excited to partner with a market leader like RR Media. This cooperation puts us in a position to serve the sports media market around the globe with our unique technology, enabling rights-holders the capability to create real-time clips and highlights, personalise them for fans and deliver them across all broadcast and digital channels to enhance the experience”.
