Netflix ‘signs deal to use Pinewood Studios’

Expected to sign a ten-year lease

Netflix is reportedly close to signing a deal which would allow it to use studio space at Pinewood.

According to a report in the Sunday Telegraph, the streamer is set to take around 150,000 square feet of space at the studio complex as it looks to expand its production capabilities in the UK.

Netflix is said to be planning to sign a ten-year deal with Pinewood, paying around £40 per square foot, or the equivalent of £6 million per year.

Rumours Netflix was looking at Pinewood as its UK production base first surfaced in December 2018.

Last week Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos said the company is looking to expand its footprint in the UK, including the possibility of buying a production company.
