Pinewood Group acquires Pinewood Toronto Studios

Pinewood Group has provided sales and marketing services since 2009 when it was first incorporated into the name of the Toronto studios

UK-based Pinewood Group has acquired full ownership of Canda’s Pinewood Toronto Studios.

The facility is home to the Mega Stage, one of the largest purpose-built soundstages in North America.

Speaking about the acquisition, Paul Golding, chairman, Pinewood Group said: We have worked with our partners for many years to create the city’s pre-eminent studio, and we’re now delighted to have bought it. We will continue to invest in the studio and the surrounding Port Lands to ensure Pinewood Toronto Studios remains the number one destination for both domestic and international productions. We intend to work closely with the city to support Toronto’s thriving film and TV industry and all those who work in it.”

Paul Bronfman, chairman and founding shareholder, Pinewood Toronto Studios added: “I am thrilled that Paul Golding and his team at Pinewood Group are acquiring our studio. As the chairman of Pinewood Toronto Studios since 2009, I am excited and look forward to this new opportunity for the city of Toronto.”

Pinewood Toronto Studios is a 490,000 square foot purpose-built production lot located on a 33.5-acre site. Its 16 purpose-built stages are soundproofed, clear-span and equipped with power and supporting infrastructure to accommodate productions of all sizes and budgets.

Recent film credits include Slumberland, It: Chapter Two, Shazam! and The Christmas Chronicles.
