Molinare Creative Group has announced the launch of its Elephant Goldfish facility.
Based in Dublin’s Docklands, the new VFX and post production studio is led by managing director and executive producer, Deborah Doherty, who has joined the company after nearly two decades at Windmill Lane. Doherty also has a place on the board of Women in Film and Television, Ireland.
She is joined by managing director and VFX supervisor, John Kennedy, who has more than 30 years of experience working on projects such as American Primeval, The Tourist, Bodkin and A Discovery of Witches. During his tenure at Windmill Lane’s VFX division, Kennedy grew the team tenfold and accrued a wealth of expertise in creative direction, VFX production and on-set supervision.

Commenting, Kennedy said, “We started Elephant Goldfish on the belief that great work comes from great relationships, when people feel trusted, creatively challenged, and truly part of something. We place a high value on personal connection. It’s a big part of why people enjoy working with us. Being part of the Molinare Creative Group allows us to offer clients highly personalised, creatively led work, something Deborah and I have worked hard to be known for, backed by the strength of scalable support, technical reliability, and deep expertise when needed.”
Elephant Goldfish aims to meet the changing demands of the worldwide screen industry, offering full post production and VFX facilities backed by seamless workflows across London and Dublin. Its locations provides productions with access to Ireland’s Section 481 tax credit, allowing up to 40 per cent on eligible Irish spend for TV, film and animation with the team offering guidance to simplify the process and ensure returns are maximised, said the company.

Another Windmill Lane veteran, colourist Dave Hughes will head up the studio’s colour department, while the head of studio role is filled by Ed Smith, supporting project management, technical and creative teams and overseeing facilities, infrastructure and logistics.
Elephant Goldfish is currently working on two projects with horror studio Blumhouse, aiming to showcase its abilities and widen services across film, TV, documentary production and more.
Nigel Bennet, CEO at Molinare Creative Group, said, “We’re incredibly proud to welcome Deborah, John, and their team into the Molinare family. Elephant Goldfish embodies our commitment to expanding creative opportunities for clients and talent alike, and reinforces our position as a diversified facility.”
