The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Video Systems group has announced the results of its professional HDR monitor testing.
Against a backdrop of growth in HDR productions, the EBU organised a test of HDR monitors at BBC R&D’s Southlab earlier this year. The study aimed to provide participants with general impressions of currently available monitors, to share approaches regarding measurements and to update publications such as EBU Tech 3320 and 3325.
The report indicates a competitive marketplace with a wide range of products using both LCD and (O)LED technologies, but also suggests the ideal monitor for all applications remains elusive.
