Disney signs 10 year deal with Pinewood Studios

Covers stages, backlots and other production accommodation

Disney has signed a long-term deal with Pinewood Studios that includes almost all of the facility’s stages, backlots and other production accommodation.

Disney has previously produced the likes of Mary Poppins Returns, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avengers: Age of Ultron at the studios.

The deal comes two months after Netflix signed a similar deal with Pinewood’s Shepperton Studios.

In a statement, Paul Golding, chairman of Pinewood Group Ltd, said: “It’s wonderful to have Disney here at Pinewood. They’ve been making great films with us for many years, and the fact they want to shoot so many more here is testimony not only to the quality of the teams and infrastructure at Pinewood but also to the British film industry as a whole.”
