i24, the new international news channel broadcasting from the Middle East, is deploying CloudOnAir, a broadcast management solution designed for small broadcast channels from SintecMedia.

Launched in July, i24 is a news and entertainment channel broadcasting over satellite, cable and the Internet. CloudOnAir meets small broadcasters’ technical and cost requirements for managing business critical functions including sales, traffic, schedule, programming, promotion and billing.

“We chose to work with SintecMedia’s CloudOnAir because in a quick moving digital environment, we needed a working solution we could trust,” stated Barouch Levi, i24’s chief operations manager. “We pulled it all together in an incredibly tight timeframe and without the need to create an entire IT structure with dedicated servers and expensive software. This proved to be a significant cost effective move.

“As a small broadcaster, in three different broadcast languages – Arabic, French and English – i24 operates fluidly and because our staff can access CloudOnAir from anywhere and at any time, we appreciate the beauty of the system’s cloud-based architecture,” Levi added.

CloudOnAir, adapted from SintecMedia’s OnAir product, is provided as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), giving broadcasters application scalability and reduced hardware costs. Its high level security and privacy, easy accessibility and integration, maximises the business of television while reducing total cost of ownership, claim the company.
